DESCRIPTION:Connect with ProJourn’s Legal Resources to support your news organizations’ needs. \nJoin us for an info session on the legal and regulatory risks facing nonprofit news organizations. Attorneys will provide mitigation strategies to reduce the risk of exposure to legal action and government investigation. \nTopics will include: \n\ntax management\nfundraising regulations\nthe relationship between editorial decision-making and nonprofits’ 501(c)(3) status\nresources offered by the Reporters Committee\, ProJourn and other organizations to assist nonprofits in navigating these issues\n\nProJourn has developed a series of Legal Checkup Clinics in response to concerns about legal risks facing nonprofit newsrooms in a changing political landscape. During these clinics\, attorneys will assess news organizations’ legal health by reviewing a checklist developed with the support of Davis Wright Tremaine.
