SUMMARY:Report for America Host Newsroom Information Session
DESCRIPTION:Report for America recruits\, trains\, and supports talented journalists to serve in local newsrooms across the United States\, focusing on under-covered communities and issues. RFA partners with newsrooms to build long-term sustainability through salary support\, fundraising coaching\, and revenue development. \nBenefits of becoming a Report for America host newsroom include: \n Recruitment and talent support: RFA recruits and helps place talented journalists with newsrooms based on their specific reporting needs\, communities and beats. Positions may include photography and visual journalism\, sports\, education\, health\, government\, agriculture\, rural affairs and other areas where communities need more consistent\, high-quality local reporting. Corps members also receive ongoing training and professional development throughout their time in the program. \n Financial support: RFA helps offset the cost of hiring a reporter by subsidizing 50% of the reporter’s salary in the first year\, up to $27\,500\, and 33% in the second year. For reporters with more than six years of experience\, RFA will subsidize up to $30\,000. \n Local news sustainability support: The Local News Sustainability team works directly with host newsrooms to identify prospective donors\, develop fundraising strategies\, pursue grants and other revenue opportunities\, and strengthen long-term financial sustainability. To date\, more than $75 million has been raised to support local news with their sustainability assistance. \n A powerful peer network: Host newsrooms gain access to a network of more than 170 like-minded news organizations across the country. \n  \nSpeaker: \nEarl Johnson\, Vice President of Recruitment and Alumni Engagement\, Report for America

SUMMARY:Double Exposure Investigative Film Festival 2026
DESCRIPTION:Double Exposure Investigative Film Festival 2026 has just announced the lineup of its inaugural Double Exposure Forum\, a place for audiences to meet the investigative journalists and filmmakers behind the headlines and to learn about the big issues animating investigative reporting in print and film. The festival’s 12th season runs Nov. 5-8 in Washington\, D.C. \n  \nThe DX Forum features two days of panels and workshops hinging on a single idea: that the right to hold government accountable belongs to every one of us\, not just to those with press credentials. Panels and workshops unpack how these rights operate on the ground and what kinds of risks they carry; how to evaluate images and viral news for truth and authenticity; open-source investigations\, citizen journalism\, and more. \n  \nThis year’s Forum is as much for those who work in the media as it is for audiences who have felt the ground shift under what they thought they knew\, and want to understand why. \n  \nPlease join DX Fest by purchasing a pass today. INN members receive an exclusive 10% discount code. Email news@inn.org to receive this.
