Honolulu Civil Beat is seeking a social issues reporter with a proven track record for producing deeply reported enterprise work and rich, narrative-style storytelling.

Potential topics includes coverage of race and ethnicity issues, including Native Hawaiian affairs, and reporting on how social, demographic and economic changes are transforming life in Hawaii. The islands are full of incredible stories – and we’re looking for someone capable of finding the ones that no one else is telling.

Multimedia skills and sensibilities, as well as a knowledge of Hawaii, are pluses.  Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience as a reporter desired.

Civil Beat is an award-wining, nonprofit investigative news site. Our focus is on producing high-impact journalism with a purpose.
