Food Bank News exists to engage, educate and inform the broad community of people involved in alleviating hunger throughout the United States. The people of this community include those who work or volunteer at the nation’s more than 200 food banks and 60,000+ food pantries, as well as non-profit agencies, academic institutions, policy makers and advocates focused on hunger relief. Food Bank News recognizes that providing food to the food-insecure population is a large responsibility, involving skills in logistics, food storage, transportation, communication, coordination and fundraising. Yet the people of this community, already working with tight budgets and mostly volunteer staffs, have few resources through which to share information and ideas.
