About Aallyah Wright
Aallyah Wright is the national rural issues reporter at Capital B where she covers what rural life looks like for Black Americans — an underrepresented group in an underreported region. Previously, Aallyah covered rural affairs for Stateline and served as the inaugural Mississippi Delta education reporter for Mississippi Today. She is a 2024 Silver/Community Voice Anthem Awards Recipient, 2022 Maynard 200 Fellow, 2020 Mississippi Humanities Council Preserver of Mississippi Culture Award Recipient and 2018 Educating Children in Mississippi Fellow at the Hechinger Report. Aallyah graduated from Delta State University with a bachelor’s in journalism and minors in communication and theater.
