Alana Rocha is the director of collaborative and rural initiatives at the Institute for Nonprofit News, where she leads national strategy and partnerships to strengthen reporting in underserved communities. She oversees INN’s Rural News Network — one of the organization’s most ambitious collaborations — aligning more than 95 member newsrooms to expand and elevate coverage of rural America. Rocha joined INN following a 20-year career as a news and politics reporter across Florida, Kansas and Texas. Most recently, she worked at The Texas Tribune, where she directed news partnerships and led the production of award-winning multimedia journalism in English and Spanish.
