Ha Ta
Ha Ta is a researcher and data strategist advancing knowledge of the nonprofit news field. At INN, she leads Pods, an initiative that connects INN’s 500+ member newsrooms with peers of similar size, providing benchmarking data and recommendations to help outlets understand how they compare. She plays a central role in designing, collecting, managing and analyzing the INN Index, the field’s cornerstone dataset. Before INN, she helped build the database behind the Burnham-Nobles Archive, a Civil Rights & Restorative Justice Project’s effort to document anti-Black killings in the mid-century South. She has taught digital storytelling at Northeastern University School of Journalism, was editor-in-chief of The Scope Boston via a Poynter fellowship, and co-founded The Global Observer, a publication covering issues facing international students in the United States.
