Projects in this round of funding include Access Missouri, a portal designed to make it easier to explore information about legislation and legislators in the state, and the Institute for Nonprofit News' One-liner, which seeks to help newsrooms improve website performance and better understand the privacy implications of a burgeoning market of third-party analytics tools, social networking widgets and advertising software.

Mother Jones, Tucson Sentinel among fourth round INNovation Fund winners

The Institute for Nonprofit News named the latest 15 grantees of its INNovation Fund, which awards projects testing new ways to fund and distribute journalism. Grants of up to $35,000 each were awarded to The Marshall Project, VTDigger, Mother Jones, the Tucson Sentinel and New Mexico In-Depth, among others. The grants totaled $416,000 in this fourth and most recent round of the awards, funded in part by the Knight Foundation and the Democracy Fund. (January 25, 2016)
