About Chabeli Carrazana
Chabeli Carrazana is The 19th’s economy reporter, focusing on women of color and LGBTQ+ people. Among her areas of focus are the pay gap, workplace discrimination and child care policy. Chabeli previously spent seven years as a business reporter in Florida covering the tourism industry for the Miami Herald and the space industry for the Orlando Sentinel, as well as labor issues and workers rights. She joined The 19th in 2020, and in 2021 she was a national Livingston Award finalist for her coverage of the women’s recession. Chabeli was born in Cuba and now lives in Orlando.
