What is a matching gift and how do companies match donations?

A matching gift is part of a company’s philanthropic initiatives that reward charitable donations. It occurs when an employee donates to a non-profit organization and the employer will also donate to that organization, most often dollar for dollar. Companies will sometimes also match donations made by spouses, retirees, and board members.

INN supporters can request a matching gift from their employers online, by email, or via payroll giving. Please contact your company’s HR or finance representative for details.

Donate through payroll deduction

Many companies will also let you set up automatic, tax-deductible donations from your paycheck. It’s a no-fuss way to donate, and it gives our teams the reliable support they need to be ready at a moment’s notice.
