Of the 44 awards, 15 go to INN members
In the wake of Wednesday’s Nonprofit News Awards, the Online News Association confirmed what we already know — INN members do outstanding digital journalism!
INN members captured a third of the prestigious Online Journalism Awards announced Friday. Of the 44 awards, 15 went to INN members representing 10 outlets.
Three of the four awards for general excellence in digital journalism went to nonprofits (PublicSource, Grist and ProPublica); both of the Gather Awards for Engaged Journalism (El Timpano and ProPublica with the Anchorage Daily News) and the Knight Foundation Award for Public Service Journalism (The City). Former INN board member Gina Chua, of Reuters, was recognized with the new Impact Award for trailblazers in the digital journalism space.
