About Ashley Woods Branch

Ashley Woods Branch is the Executive Director of the Fund for Equity in Local News and a veteran consultant and coach for independent local news founders. Ashley founded the award-winning newsletter startup Detour Detroit, which she merged with Outlier Media in 2022. She was a visiting Nieman fellow at Harvard University and a Marshall Memorial Fellow. Before becoming a news founder, she led digital and audience strategy for the Detroit Free Press.
