About Brittany Harley

Brit Harley is a leader in community media innovation and a passionate advocate for youth and local communities. Five Wards Media and Newark Stories highlight the diverse experiences of Newark residents, creating a media landscape that reflects their voices. Her journey began as a Free Press News Voices fellow at WBGO 88.3fm, laying the groundwork for the Newark News & Story Collaborative. She was a 2021 John S. Knight Community Impact Fellow. Newark Stories has trained over 50 residents in journalism, storytelling, and media production, addressing information disparities in underrepresented areas.
