About Donna Ladd

Donna Ladd is Editor & CEO and co-founder of the Mississippi Free Press, Mississippi Youth Media Project and formerly Jackson Free Press. She has won over 100 journalism prizes including a Columbia Journalism Alumni Award in 2021, and Mississippi Business Journal just named her a top CEO in Mississippi. She served as a W.K. Kellogg Foundation leadership fellow focusing on race equity and youth media. She and MFP co-founder Kimberly Griffin won the Poynter Prizes’ 2024 Robert G. McGruder Award for Diversity Leadership, and her investigative reporting landed a Klan murderer in prison and a Jackson mayor on trial … twice.
