About Jaya Padmanabhan
Jaya Padmanabhan is the collaborative editor at the Center for Health Journalism at the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School of Journalism. Prior to joining the Center, she worked as an editor for Ethnic Media Services and India Currents and as a columnist for the San Francisco Examiner, covering critical issues for communities of color. Her freelance work has been published in the New York Times, PBS Next Avenue, Medium, Forbes, and KQED, among others. She previously served on San Francisco’s Sunshine Ordinance Task Force, working to ensure government transparency and accountability.
