About Randall Yip
Randall Yip launched AsAmNews as an all-volunteer project in 2012. In 2021, AsAmNews became a non-profit under the name Asian American Media Inc. Yip left his fulltime job in mainstream media as a senior producer to run both organizations in 2023. He is an Emmy Award winning producer and former executive producer. He has been recognized for his work by the CA state legislature and numerous non-profits. He is a 40-year veteran of mainstream media, but worked in Ethnic Media through college at UC Berkeley where he received an undergraduate journalism degree.
