InvestigateWest, an award-winning Seattle-based journalism nonprofit, seeks project fellows/interns to help us cover the potential, imperative and reality of greenhouse gas reduction in the Pacific Northwest. You will work (remotely) with staff and freelance journalists, enhancing a growing package of stories with research, community interviews, data visualization, summary boxes, and other story elements. These are three-month positions for residents of Oregon, Washington or British Columbia. Internships will be staggered throughout the year beginning as early as October 2020, with potential for extension. Student journalists, women, BIPOC and other traditionally marginalized groups are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants must have published stories demonstrating their news judgment and writing.
This is a paid position, with a stipend of $1200-2000/month (anticipated hours: 20+/week), dependent on experience, and with the expectation of completion of scope of work defined at the beginning of the project. Other perks may include professional development, bylines, and scheduling flexibility. We’ll work with you to make the projects doable, especially during COVID. Let’s talk.
Please send your applications and questions to JOBS@INVW.org. Applications accepted on a rolling basis until filled. Thank you for your interest in InvestigateWest.
