An annual event for audience staff and leaders in the INN Network and journalism industry
Audience staff and leaders from across the INN Network, leading experts and researchers gather at the Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY yearly to confront and work on solutions to the deepest audience challenges facing nonprofit news organizations.
The event is the in-person gathering of supporters and participants of INN’s ongoing Audience Studio working groups, which identify and work in structured sprints on pervasive audience challenges.
Through speakers and workshops, participants identify growing challenges to audience work, collectively work on strategies that work across newsrooms and identify challenges that go beyond any single organization’s ability to fully overcome and requires intervention through collaborations, INN or other support organizations.
Past participants have included, Documented, Mother Jones, the Narwhal, the War Horse, the New York Times Open Democracy and the Verge, as well as researchers from the University of Pennsylvania, University of Minnesota and New York University.
